Our next Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week runway report comes courtesy of Mr. Jason Wu. Inspired by the Helmut Newton exhibit at the Grand Palais in Paris, Jason Wu went dark for his Spring/Summer 2013 collection.
Sticking to a palette of mostly black, white, and nude (with the occasional pink and navy blue) allowed Jason to infuse this collection with his signature tailoring and ladylike playfulness. It was a subtle, intriguing balance of 1950s Hollywood starlet and modern dominatrix, a word I never thought I would use on this site.
Although not initially my style, I have found myself going back again and again to look at these pictures and have slowly, but surely fallen in love. Once again Jason Wu takes me to a place I've never been before and I have loved it all the way...
We'll have more from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week later today and, if you'd like, you can see the rest of Jason Wu's Spring/Summer 2013 collection at Style.com.
