As with most of you, I just adore pinning my favorite inspiration photos to Pinterest in my spare time.  Whether for business or pleasure, I think Pinterest is one of the best ways to get inspired by the fabulous world around us.

I would love for all of my Ladylike Chic readers to join me in my pinning, so feel free to check out my Pinterest page here.  And, of course, I love learning about new Pinterest boards, so write a comment below if you want me to check our your Pinterest page...

Happy pinning!

Miss Bardot

Today is such an exciting day for Ladylike Chic!  Cincinnati's best makeup artist, Nancy Dawson of BRIDEface, is now officially our go-to expert for everything beauty.  She is truly an artist with a makeup brush and is (bonus!) a highly enjoyable writer.  When we decided to switch blogs for the day, I told her how much I love vintage makeup looks, but I had trouble translating them to 2012.  So, she's taken on the challenge with her very first post.

So, without further ado, I give you all Miss Bardot by the very talented Nancy Dawson of BRIDEface...

Brigitte Bardot’s effortless glamour has been and continues to be a huge influence.  Claudia Schiffer, Pamela Anderson, and Anna Nicole Smith all borrowed heavily from her sexy, lived-in look.  You felt that she had made herself up, done her hair, and then spent the afternoon drinking wine and having a roll in the hay.

Start with a matte finish foundation; dewy shiny skin was not her thing.  Skip bronzer!  It was all about rocking the pale creamy skin.  She favored peaches and corals, which are so fabulous on blondes.  The lips were always a matte; Try Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics lip tar in Grandma.  But just a dot, for a stained look.  NARS Orgasm is a good choice for the cheeks, to give that naughty flush.

For the eyes, begin with a goldy-champagne cream shadow such as Maybelline Eye Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze.  Apply to the whole lid, angling up at the outer corner.  Next, line the inner rims and top lash line with a black pencil.  Start with a thinner line and then build the line from the mid-eye to create a dramatic winged shape.  (It is easier to build on this gradually than to make one thick swath, unless you are particularly well versed at cat eyes.)  You could always use a liquid liner in a pen form to achieve this.  Use tons of mascara and top with falsies.

Brows were not a huge focus, so simply run Anastasia blond brow gel through them to give a bit of color without creating sharp definition.

Romantic Stroll

Photographer Nikolay Biryukov is quickly becoming one of my favorite fashion photographers and his new editorial in Elle Ukraine shows exactly why.  This 1960s-inspired modern vintage photo shoot looks more like stills from a Parisian film than your average fashion editorial.  I especially love the mix of shots, some black and white and some full color.

Nikolay's keen eye was the perfect choice to showcase stylist's Natalia Osadchaya simple, yet chic looks.  I spy some gorgeous designs by Etro, Salvatore Ferragamo, Christian Dior, and many more.

This editorial just makes me want to take a romantic stroll through Paris...

A New Obsession

First let me start off today's post by stating the obvious: I love technology.  I may adore the roaring 20s, but I never could have lived in them.

So, why on today of all days do I love technology so much?  Because today I discovered a piece of technology that is going to take my little obsession with the always Ladylike Chic Duchess of Cambridge to crazy new heights.

Meet Kate's Style List.  An amazing new app that tracks all of the Duchess's looks from head to toe, so Copy-Kates like me know exactly what she's wearing at every event.  And the best part?  You can even buy the pieces the Duchess wore straight from the app!

This game-changer can be bought from the App Store and is totally worth its 99¢ price tag.  Let the obsession begin...

Head to Toe - Part Deux

When I saw the pictures of Jessica Biel at the Total Recall premiere in London, I knew her look would be the perfect showcase for our next Head to Toe feature.  Wearing her Sunday's best (or Thursday's as the case may be), Jessica sashayed down the red carpet in a heavenly Giambattista Valli Spring 2012 Couture dress.  From the menswear collar to the ostrich feather peplum, this dress was utter perfection.

And, as is usual with my favorite things in life, the details of this look perfectly complemented this white stunner.  Neon pink Christian Louboutin pumps gave a welcome splash of color and the Fendi clutch was a simple, perfect choice.  Even Jessica's makeup ensured that the Giambattista Valli dress remained the star of the show as the makeup artist created a subtle palette of black-lined eyes, nude lips, and a manicure with a hint of pink.

My breath is literally taken away...

'Live In Pink'

It always a joy to see my beloved industry bringing awareness to a wonderful cause and one of my favorite stores, LOFT, is doing just that.

In October, LOFT will release a capsule collection of clothes and accessories, with all proceeds going to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  And to celebrate the occasion, LOFT held a pink-themed fĂȘte in West Hollywood last night.  Hosted by the collection's lovely chief collaborator Giuliana Rancic, guests showed up to support the cause in their most adorable pink looks.

I'll post pictures of the collection on Ladylike Chic's Facebook page as they are unveiled in the coming months.  I know I'll be first in line in October to get a piece from this collection at my local Cincy LOFT.

P.S.  Christian's dark fuchsia pants?  I have them and I love them!

The September Issue

I'm starting to become giddy as a school girl as we inch closer and closer to September.  The runways, the blogging, the sweaters, oh my....

And let us not forget my favorite of all thing September: the September Issues!  For those of you who haven't seen the now in-famous documentary, the September issue of every major fashion magazine is the biggest of the year. Designers and editors clamor to show the best of what fashion has to offer within their September pages and only the most glamorous women appear on their covers.

I have been loving the September covers I've been seeing so far, so here's a rundown of my favorites... just for you.

Happy September (almost)!
